Fashion is art.

So the thing about being a designer is that it forces you to think like a businessman (or businesswoman, rather). This results in sacrificing the artist within yourself in order for your business to grow. Sometimes what you would want produce is too abstract and you end up scratching that idea to create something more “safe”, something less of you and more of what you think your customers would choose to wear.

There comes a point however, when you occasionally have to produce a piece that not only turns heads, but becomes something of a conversation piece. Why? Because it feeds your creativity and releases the non-conformist energy that is just dying to come out. After all, fashion IS art. My message is, don’t not wear something based on what people will think of you when you wear it, but rather how it makes you feel and how it speaks personally to you.

My only hope is that what I see as artistic and beautiful, is how the rest of the world views it.
